Kids Ski Free can really be a great value, but the requirements differ by the resort offering the deal so you need to pay close attention or work with a knowledgeable agent (like me). To take advantage of a Kids Ski Free deal in many cases you need to reserve a specific lodging package, for instance you need to book lodging managed by the resort itself. Third party lodging management companies like booking directly with a property owner are usually not be eligible for the Kids Ski Free deal or other lift ticket promotions.

A knowledgeable ski travel sales professional working for an established ski travel wholesale agency like Rocky Mountain Getaways has access to all the reputable relevant options for accommodations in each destination and will make sure that your package includes Kids Ski Free when appropriate by automatically including eligible lodging at the best available rate.

In many instances Kids Ski Free will be applicable for each child based on the purchase of an adult lift ticket for a certain number of ski days, but in some cases; even this stipulation is not required as long as you have the proper lodging.

Kids Ski Free is most relevant to kids ages 5, 6 or above because most kids that are under 5 or 6 can ski for free anyway simply by requesting an under 5 lift ticket at the lift counter.

This all being said, Kids Ski Free can really add value and save money on a family ski vacation, especially those deals that allow as many kids in the party to ski free without a 1 on 1 adult lift ticket requirement (up to allowed maximum occupancy of the accommodations). In most cases, I order Kids Ski Free lift tickets on your behalf when I place your lodging reservation.

Lots of ski resorts offer ski & snowboard vacation deals where kids can ski or ride for free when accompanied by a full paying adult.

You may need proof of the childs age. The ages of the kids qualifying are different depending on the resort. At some ski resorts, the kid must be 6 or under to qualify for a free lift ticket, like Whistler, Mammoth, Aspen/Snowmass, Taos, Whiteface Lake Placid, Snowbird, Park City, Okemo. At other ski resorts the kid can be 12 or under like Steamboat, Keystone, Mt. Bachelor, Killington.

A few ski resorts like Keystone, require a minimum night stay at one of their properties to get a complimentary lift ticket for your child.

At most ski resorts kids can ski/ride free all season long without any blackout dates.

Many resorts offer free skiing to children under a certain age generally 5 or 6 years old (some requires age verification) others can go as high as 12. Ski Utah offers a 5th and 6th graders free skiing via their passport to encourage youngsters to ski.
