What are Ski & Stay packages?
Advice provided by ski & snowboard vacation expert:

The basic Ski & Stay package includes lodging (the "Stay") and lift tickets (the "Ski").

Many ski resorts often own and or operate condominiums and hotels at their resort. To better promote their properties, they package discounted lift tickets with the lodging they own or operate.

Ski resorts also sell discounted lift tickets directly to hotels or condos not owned or operated by them. Those properties package their lodging with the discounted lift tickets and sell the "Ski & Stay" package directly to the skiers.

Most "Ski & Stay" packages require minimum night stays. The minimum stays could be only one night for a New England resort, or 3 to 5 night minimums for a Rocky Mountain destination resort.

Also, some time periods may require different night minimums. During peak seasons like Christmas, Presidents Week, or MLK week, when lodging and lift tickets are at a premium, the night minimums may be greater than non peak periods. Or, depending on the ski resort, there may be very few if any "Ski & Stay" packages offered for those peak seasons.
