Buttermilk is the smallest of the Snowmass Mountains, meaning there aren’t a whole lot of options when it comes to on-site hotels.
The Inn at Aspen: Located at the Main Buttermilk base, The Inn at Aspen is the only ski-in/ski-out hotel here offering a range of rooms and suites. It’s a convenient option for groups and those who want to be first on the slopes as access to the Summit Express Lift, Panda Peak lift and the halfpipe are only steps away! The main lodge is also well within walking distance, making it easy to grab at bite at Bumps Restaurant or hiring ski gear at Four Mountain Sports. The Inn also provides a courtesy shuttle to the airport and downtown Aspen so you won’t need to worry about driving or parking! The rooms range from moderate studio to one bedroom suites and prices start from $330 per night.
For more accommodation options, the city of Aspen is only minutes away and has all an abundance of hotels, amenities, and nightlife. If you choose to stay here and rent a car, you’ll be able to take full advantage of your lift ticket by skiing at two, three or all of the four Snowmass Mountains! Aspen is notorious for its bustling bars and rowdy nightlife that is fueled by the thousands of keen visitors that migrate to and from the popular ski town year after year. You won’t get the convenience of ski-in/ski-out facilities and we’re not going to lie, staying in Aspen means digging a little deeper into your pockets! That said, you will get a taste of one of the most iconic North American ski destinations, its vivid après-ski scene, and easy access to non-stop skiing!
Tyrolean Lodge: For something less damaging to your wallet, the small family-owned Tyrolean Lodge offers better value than most accommodations in Aspen considering its room features and central location. The décor here oozes with rustic charm while rooms can accommodate up to 5 people comfortably and feature fully-equipped kitchenettes. Conveniently located on the Main St (which is actually the main street of Aspen), the Tyrolean Lodge is perfect for families, groups and those looking to save more than just a few dollars! Prices start from $225.
Hotel Jerome: The historic Hotel Jerome has often been ranked as one of Aspen’s and Colorado’s best hotels! This luxury boutique hotel is located in the heart of Aspen and has all the amenities fit for a king. World class dining, spa boutique, ski valet, complimentary use of a luxury Mercedes-Benz, twice a day housekeeping, what more do you want! It’s posh but pricey here, so if you’re looking to splurge out for that extra special ski getaway, then this is the place. Special offers are also available such as two complimentary lift tickets if you stay three nights or more. Prices start from $825 per night.
Airbnb and Vacation rentals
AirBnb and Vrbo are great resources for finding local rooms and vacation rentals, just try to plan at least a few weeks ahead. Vacation rentals offer a comfortable and luxurious stay in the heart of Aspen, and the prices often reflect that value, which make it a great choice for families. On average, you’re looking at around $450 per night for a full sized vacation rental.
