Overview

The Good

  • Highest lift in North America at 12,840 ft for some big mountain shredding
  • Bustling historic mining town with a laid-back vibe
  • Party town reputation - they got après ski down packed
  • Wide range of lodgings from modest to luxury to suit all budgets
  • Award-winning terrain parks (some of the best in the world!)

The Bad

  • Epic wind chill so wrap up warm
  • High elevation means top lifts can close for days
  • Slopes can get crowded, ugh!
  • Snow can be blow-packed into a crusty shell
  • High altitude can cause altitude sickness

My husband and I are beginner/intermediate skiers, and we skied Breckenridge for the first time in March. We thought the skiing was excellent. The green runs on Peak 9 are really wide and easy. We ventured over to Peak 8, but found it to be very crowded. We did a blue run,... More

I love the Breckinridge and Vail Resorts. There are so many slopes you can ridei. Just like Heaven! I like the restaurants and warming stations at the mountains summit. I always forget all my worries whenever I am there. The backwoods are better after fresh snow. ... More

Breck has the best overall experience. The town itself is a great environment, the lifts operate at a efficient level and the snow is always dynamite. Plenty of fun trails to board and restaurant and food options are at the end of most main lifts! I recommend going to... More

Out of all the major resorts, this is my all time favorite. I enjoy all the convenience of the high end lifts that take me up the mountain, the fresh white powder snow, the restaurant and lodging accessibility and of course the overall beauty that it offers. Can't wait to make it... More

Breckenridge is amazing for all abilities! I skied mainly on Greens and Blues and they are all super long, wide and fun! The altitude can be challenging as the resort sits above 9000Ft. The town is super fun and it's easy enough to get to the resort from Denver airport!... More

Breckenridge is a staple to the ski industry in Colorado. Most people love to head to this resort, not for the highest lift in North America, or the stunts thrown down at the Dew Tour, but for the people and the town. This resort is nestled away from the major I-70 corridor and... More
