Overview

The Good

  • Highest lift in North America at 12,840 ft for some big mountain shredding
  • Bustling historic mining town with a laid-back vibe
  • Party town reputation - they got après ski down packed
  • Wide range of lodgings from modest to luxury to suit all budgets
  • Award-winning terrain parks (some of the best in the world!)

The Bad

  • Epic wind chill so wrap up warm
  • High elevation means top lifts can close for days
  • Slopes can get crowded, ugh!
  • Snow can be blow-packed into a crusty shell
  • High altitude can cause altitude sickness

Terrain. Of every type. Tons of it. Steep groomers. Above the treeline bowl that is manageable for intermediate skiers. The highest lift-supported skiing in America. Went last winter and there was plenty of base, but just no new snow during our stay. We need to return and... More

It's a good resort when its not Spring Break, extra windy or a holiday. The prices need to go down as the tickets are just absurd these days. The food prices on the mountain are also like you're in a stadium. They are out pricing family fun!... More

Breckenridge is an awesome ski resort, you can spend all day skiing and still not hit the same run twice if you do it right. You can ski across the entire mountain and find new runs. The town itself is also awesome and great for families. With the longest ski run at three and a... More
