The Good

  • Massive ski terrain covering over 3,000 ac
  • Some of best long groomers in Colorado
  • Award-winning terrain parks, with its own lift
  • Night skiing available
  • Affordable and family-friendly

The Bad

  • Crowds can be a problem, especially on weekends
  • Not much extreme terrain to challenge advanced skiers and boarders
  • Lack of snowfall compared to other Summit County resorts

Find Freshies: The Outback offers gladed terrain featuring untouched pow otherwise hike to the bowls above the Santiago Express and Outback Express for the best fresh stuff.

Ditch the Crowds: Take the Summit Express Lift instead of the River Run Gondola. Both take you from the base to the top of Dercum Mountain but the River Run Gondola gets quite crowded, particularly before 10:00am.

Local's Pick: Wolverine, Wildfire, Pika and Porcupine in The Outback are all some of our favorites, they're very loosely defined in gladed terrain, so feel free to get wild here!

Keystone has the best lives anywhere. Their train is great with many opportunities for any skill level. Their ski school is second to none in the country. I love to ski all day and with night skiing I am able to do that. And to be able to use the same ticket for Arapahoe basin... More

More a family resort. But the runs are well maintained and the park is fairly big. The employees are always very friendly and go out of their way to help you if you need it. If you're an expert looking for a challenge, you can find it but don't expect it to be the best.... More

I love keystone because it is one of the first ski towns coming from the airport. Keystone is very close to Dillion, where we grocery shop. The snow is always great at keystone!... More

I didn't stay there but I snowboarded and got to experience the the area with the people who were actually training the residents to snowboard/ski. It was great and real friendly. I'm actually planning on going back this coming spring break. ... More

I unfortunately have not enjoyed Keystone the times that I have been there. I have found each time that it is a very icy mountain, regardless of weather conditions. I’m not sure if it’s the way the mountain faces or what but there are icy patches EVERYWHERE there. Maybe I’ve just... More

I had so much fun last season at Keystone resort last year! It was my first year learning how to snowboard and the trails made it beyond easy to learn. School Marm is about 3.5 miles long of continuous trail and it seems like the run never ends. The trail is wide enough to share... More

Been coming to Key for a long time now. I’m a Colorado native and Keystone is the best value and ride you’ll find. There are great areas for beginners and I really enjoy the bowls. Unfortunately, Vail resorts began building more lodging in the overflow lot, so come early, or... More

This is a great resort to access from Denver, it’s not too far and has a lot of options for all skill levels. It’s best to get there as early as possible to get to the back peaks before the big crowds, the lines aren’t bad until around lunch time. Had some great powder days there... More

I learned how to ride at Keystone Resort and I wouldn't recommend any other mountain for friends new to snow sports. The staff is friendly and the views are great for day one. Love that you can take the gondola all the way to the top before getting to the beginners run. Gives you... More
