Overview

The Good

  • Massive ski terrain covering over 3,000 ac
  • Some of best long groomers in Colorado
  • Award-winning terrain parks, with its own lift
  • Night skiing available
  • Affordable and family-friendly

The Bad

  • Crowds can be a problem, especially on weekends
  • Not much extreme terrain to challenge advanced skiers and boarders
  • Lack of snowfall compared to other Summit County resorts

Find Freshies: The Outback offers gladed terrain featuring untouched pow otherwise hike to the bowls above the Santiago Express and Outback Express for the best fresh stuff.

Ditch the Crowds: Take the Summit Express Lift instead of the River Run Gondola. Both take you from the base to the top of Dercum Mountain but the River Run Gondola gets quite crowded, particularly before 10:00am.

Local's Pick: Wolverine, Wildfire, Pika and Porcupine in The Outback are all some of our favorites, they're very loosely defined in gladed terrain, so feel free to get wild here!

Love the short lines compared to neighboring large resorts (breck). There's always a fresh pow stash that others couldn't find, you just have to search. Amazing tree runs. Cliffs if you can find find them. Fast lifts. ... More

Absolutely loved this resort. Fantastic for the price. Spent two days here and was amazed at how well the resort was put together in early January. Even while there I saw the many improvements that were/will happen and am excited to get back out there. ... More

I love the Dercum terrain, snow quality and grooming. There should be a larger lodge at River Run the current one is cramped and uncomfortable. On mountain food and beverage prices are outrageously high. ... More

Keystone I'd my first choice for any powder day in Summit county. The local vibe and accessible terrain makes for some of the best powder filled moments. The free parking situation is a major plus, as many if the other nearby resorts have you nickle and dined from the get go.... More

One of the favorites for me. The main mountain can get very crowded, weekends being just a huge pain. But the back mountain is where the better snow is at, and the most fun. It just closes a tad too early. The night skiing is also a lot of fun. ... More
