There is nothing like a ride down the mountain at Telluride. The town is historic, less commercial and the mountain views spectacular.

It was a tough choice between snow conditions and natural beauty because Telluride has both in abundance. We drove 7.5 hours from Fort Collins, and don't regret one hour of the drive. The town was gorgeous, the local grocery stores were great (we were on a budget) and the Victorian Inn was totally affordable. But best of all -- the snow, the scenery, and the uncrowded slopes could not be beat! (hope there are not too many typos in this message)

Terrain separation keeps lower skill level skiers away from interaction with higher level skiers - cuts down on the irritation factor for both types.

Telluride was a great choice over the holidays because it wasn't as crowded as resorts that are easier/quicker to get to. It has great skiing conditions/slopes, beautiful scenery, and a lot of fun off the slopes for families with teenagers. Our ski in/ski out townhouse was truly a ski in/ski out.

I have not visited all of the resorts but I can't imagined any resort having the scenery that Telluride has. It also has a great mix or runs for all skill levels. Mtn Village is great for beginner / intermediate.

Unique variety of challenging runs yet with easier slopes for everyone. Great attitude of the locals makes it ultra special.

For me it's the total package. The scenery is just awesome, the skiing is world class and the town of Telluride (not the mountain village) is a real town with great ambiance.
