Overview

Two ski resorts, one hell of a place to ski.

Hakuba 47 and Goryu are two resorts sharing the one mountain, making it the second largest ski area in Hakuba Valley behind Happo One. They’re connected at the top and their shared lift pass makes it easy to access runs on both sides. Even though it’s technically the same mountain, both resorts exhibit its own persona - Goryu is more beginner friendly at the base but if you’re willing to work for your powder, access the back ridge for breathtaking views and untouched white fluff. Hakuba 47 on the other hand, provides plenty for intermediate and advanced skiers with dedicated off-piste tree zone and the largest terrain park in Hakuba Valley for that extra thrill.

Nice resort, on a good day you can get great advanced off pist-expirience! We were really lucky with the weather so it was powder and sunshine for us! On a good day, more difficult than Niseko!... More

What about amazing resort with so many runs to choose from, you can start on Hakuba 47 catch the lifts to the top and ski down the other side to Goryu. Plenty of places to eat on the slopes and I think I only waited about two minutes in line to catch a lift back up the mountain.... More

Great mountain overall. I went here for a snowboarding trip with a friend. We took a Shinkansen and then a bus from Tokyo. The town has a convenient shuttle bus to get around. There are plenty of choices for accommodation. Nice restaurants and bars in the village as well.... More

A excellent resort with a good mix of park and groomed runs and not to mention the off piste. Powder quality is one of the best in Japan. Lots of other snow activities to suit all age ranges. The evenings are always full of energy for those who seek some night life.... More

Awesome resort, less crowded than neighbouring resorts but with just as much fun terrain. Goryu is great for beginners through to advanced riders with wide open runs perfect for powder day carves. 47 is generally steeper and caters a little more towards more technical riding.... More
