Chateau Mont Sainte Anne Quebec
Don't you love to be slopeside, to wake to the view of the slopes and know that first tracks are just steps away, or to fall asleep to the twinkly lights of the groomers heading out to buff the slopes? Mont Sainte Anne in Quebec has just the place - the Chateau Mont Sainte Anne. Sure, Quebec City is just 25 miles away, but not having to drive has its rewards - like riding the first gondola to the summit. Those first runs off the top with views of the St Lawrence Seaway and of Quebec in the distance are priceless.
Château Mont-Sainte-Anne is located right at the base of Mont Sainte Anne's slopes. In fact, it's the only ski in ski out hotel here. The ski lockers are just a short stroll in your ski boots to the gondola and ski school. The Hotel is four-stars and offers lodging ranging from a typical hotel room to condos, to the Nordik Studios which have been completely redecorated in a modern alpine style. These rooms are spacious and offer a couch, mini- kitchen and espresso machine for your morning coffee. Most ski and stay packages at The Chateau include a full buffet breakfast in the main dining room with a view of the slopes. Children 17 and under stay free with parents here.
The Spa Chateau in the hotel offers a range of beauty and health treatments and two outdoor hot tubs plus an indoor pool which are very popular with the kids after skiing.
The small but fun ski village at Sainte Anne offers a few ski shops, après ski bars and restaurants including the Bistro Nordik inside the Hotel, and Le Brez which serves excellent wood fired pizza, beef or cheese fondue and local Quebecois cuisine, featured on our Top 10 Ski Resort Dining list.
Mont Sainte-Anne’s ski terrain is accessed by the gondola and two high-speed quads that flank this three-sided mountain, plus a t-bar and an older triple. Mont Sainte Anne has a hearty 2,050-foot vertical drop almost to sea level ( the summit is 2,625'), and 67 trails covering 465 acres and 42 miles.
Mont Sainte Anne offers lots of great ski terrain, groomed trails like FIS sanctioned La Crete and La S which all have superb views and a sustained pitch of 40-degrees. Mont Sainte Anne is also host to fun terrain parks and beautiful glades - Le Forêt Noire and La Forêt Enchantée. Sainte-Anne has one of the best ski and snowboard schools in Quebec with lessons for all abilities.
Staying at the Château Mont Sainte Anne, you have no excuse not to try night skiing on the 19 lit trails -the highest vertical night skiing in Canada. Unless of course, après ski is calling you. perhaps you can send the kids out for night skiing while you have an aperitif. Some evenings the Chateau has a DJ or music in the lobby by the big open fireplaces.
Other winter activities at Mont Sainte Anne also include dog sledding, Nordic skiing on 200-kilometers, ice skating, a visit to the Ice Palace – built each winter, or a trip to the Montmorency Falls.
During your family ski and stay at Chateau Mont Sainte Anne, you should drive a half hour north to ski Le Massif as well. Mont Sainte Anne and nearby Stoneham are sister resorts under Resorts of the Canadian Rockies along with Lake Louise, Fernie, Nakiska, and Kimberly in Western Canada.
