We love the terrain and the lack of snowboards. Also the snow is consistent and they don't go overboard with the grooming.

Informal atmosphere, no apres-ski, skiers on the whole are serious--not just people who want to be seen, management tries to keep costs down.

anything you want to do,hike, steeps, awsome, one big plus is no snowboarders allowed, average skill level of skiers seems to be higher than at most resorts, close to major airport. the only downfall for alta is lack of ski town, restaurants, shops ect. staying at saltlake not fun but the skiing is best in usa

Alta combines great terrain with incredible snow to make it one of the most reliable ski trip too take. Where else can you rip steep shots like keyhole and high rustler in 2 foot dumps on a fairly regular basis.

Alta provides skiers with hardcore skiing in bounds. Huge amounts of terrain are not swallowed up by snowboarders sliding down the mountain.

Alta generally even gets slightly better snow than Snowbird and its fresh powder generally lasts a bit longer - but you have to work/climb a bit to get it.
