On Mountain

The slopeside dining at Jackson Hole leaves something to be desired, mainly because the food lacks the quality to warrant such a high price, so it’s a wise choice is to pack your own lunch and take it with you. On the other hand, if you don’t mind a splurge then you’ll find a few eateries serving up food to keep you fueled.

For breakfast duck into Nick Wilson’s Cowboy Café; it’s the cafeteria at the Tram base where you’ll find decent breakfast burritos to tuck into. They also have a sunny deck and an après menu for when you’re ready to call it a day.

Enjoy views of the valley between sips of wine at Piste Mountain Bistro. A ride up Bridger Gondola delivers guests to the casually upscale eatery at the top of Rendezvous Peak, and chefs craft Rocky Mountain Western fare sourced from local, sustainable farms.

If it’s classic cafeteria ski food you crave then there’s no better place than the Rendezvous Lodge. Enjoy gorgeous mountain views including the iconic Corbet’s Couloir from the south-facing deck while filling up on hearty noodle bowls and tasty fries.

Perhaps the best thing to eat on the mountain at Jackson Hole is a scrumptious sugary waffle from Corbet’s Cabin. Located way up high where the Tram ends, you can escape the wind and fog for a moment and try Gateway, their signature peanut butter and bacon waffle!

Off Mountain

You’ll find plenty of places to enjoy a meal off the slopes, with a few scattered around Teton Village and many more down in the town of Jackson. There are tons of family friendly options and most restaurants have a casual atmosphere no matter how expensive they are, with jeans acceptable wherever you eat (it’s cowboy country remember!). Reservations are recommended everywhere during weekends and peak periods.

Dining in Teton Village

For your morning meal, head to the Rocky Mountain Oyster Café, located just under the Mangy Moose. It’s walk up and order style dining, but it can get busy and can take a while before your food arrives, so skip it if you want to be one of the first skiers up the mountain.

Bet the Ranch is a new steakhouse that’s recently opened right next to the Tram building. They serve up succulent buffalo tenderloin, pork chops, and casseroles, but there isn’t much on the menu to enjoy if meat isn’t your thing. Instead try the excellent Italian fare at Il Villaggio Osteria, a restaurant with rustic charm located within Hotel Terra. Wood-fired pizza, handmade pasta, and other traditional Italian cuisine are available, alongside an extensive wine list.

If you can’t get enough of Thai food then you’re well covered at the family-run Teton Thai. Their authentic spicy soups such as Tom Yum Goong will warm you up, along with a range of curries. Before you dive in, just bear in mind that it's not particularly cheap here, with a dinner for two easily costing around $80.

For something a bit fancier, inside the Four Seasons you'll find the Westbank Grill, a cozy fine dining space with stone fireplace and views of the resort. They're known for their high-end steaks and comfort foods, as well as an impressive wine list.

Dining in Jackson

Budget

Cheaper dining options can be found down in the town of Jackson, where there’s plenty more competition to keep prices down. Breakfast like a local with take-away breakfast burritos from D.O.G. (Down on Glen) – they'll fuel you for the day while still catching first chair. Otherwise, friendly local joints like Pearl Street Bagels for coffee, sandwiches and freshly baked bagels or Pinky G’s for pizza and beers are great choices that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. If you like the sound of those then check out Liberty Burger and The Merry Piglets Mexican Grill too. For a hearty healthy meal, head to Lotus, the town's hot spot for gluten-free, vegan and locavore-friendly cuisine. Think 100% grass-fed beef tacos, Vietnamese vegan pho, and baked falafel bowls. You can also bet that every last sprout was grown in someone’s local greenhouse. 

Mid-Range

For a mid-range casual restaurant that’s Jackson through and through, book a table at the Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse. There’s amazing variety on the menu, from bison soup to pan-roasted pheasant, along with all the usual t-bones, ribeyes, and tenderloins. Fish and vegetarian options are available too. It’s located beneath the iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, where you can get comfy after your meal on one of the genuine horse saddle barstools.

Tucked into a cozy bistro space off Glenwood Street, Trio is a local favorite for wood-oven fired pizzas, American bistro fare, and their famous blood-orange margaritas. When tables are full, we recommend splitting a small plate and bottle of wine at the bar, which overlooks the open kitchen.

High-End

When you fancy a splurge there’s a boisterous tapas restaurant that makes for the perfect post-ski dinner destination. Bin 22 is home to aged French cheeses and Italian salumi, along with fine wine from all over the world. The vino doesn’t come cheap, but you can pick your favorite from the in-house bottle shop and drink it at your table without an added corkage fee!

The Snake River Grillhas been a fine dining mainstay in the town of Jackson for 20 years, and while dress code is Jackson casual, the cuisine is absolutely divine. This is where contemporary Western fare meets rustic elegance with views of the Town Square. Start with upscale comfort eats like the branding iron of sweet onion rings made with Snake River Pale Ale Batter, followed by the Snake River Grill Crispy Pork Shank with cider glaze.

One of Jackson Hole's best kept secrets, the award-winning Wild Sage at Rusty Parrot Lodge and Spa offers diners a quiet space to enjoy fine dining fare inspired by local lifestyle. The space has only 8 tables, making it ideal for a private, romantic night out.

Après-Ski

While there aren't nightclubs as such in Jackson Hole, you won't be short of fun après ski options here!

Teton Village

You can’t talk about the après-ski at Jackson Hole without mentioning the Mangy Moose Saloon. It’s close to the lifts, so get in there straight after your ski day to throw back some microbrews and chow down on nachos before the mayhem begins. Live music starts at 4:00pm but get there by 3:30pm for a table, or rub shoulders with longtime Jacksonites at the bar, and it doesn’t take long before revelers break out the Shotski!

Hang with locals at the Spur for lively conversation, local draft beers, and upscale comfort eats prepared by award-winning chef Kevin Humphreys. And whatever you do, don't miss a taste of their (in)famous jalapeno margarita or bacon bloody mary. A short stroll from the tram the rustic-chic restaurant and bar is located inside Teton Mountain Lodge. Voted by locals as the Best Après in 2017, Spur is a top spot not to be missed!

One of the newer bars in Teton Village, The Handle bar is a top pick for its slopeside views and tasty après eats. There's also an excellent selection of local and international whiskeys and beer. The game room next-door will also keep the kids happy.

Jackson

Get a taste of the true Wild West at Million Dollar Cowboy Bar – locally known as The Cowboy –  in the town square of Jackson. From swing dancing to live country music, the bar is bound to offer a great night out! Regulars dance hard, so watch your step or share a two-step with anyone sporting boots and a huge belt buckle. Sure, it's touristy, but there's nowhere better to cut some serious rug or shoot pool with Wyoming locals in 10-gallon hats.

One of the best ski bar’s in Jackson is Local. Centrally located on the town square, Local boasts an historic horseshoe bar and high top tables perfect for sharing late night apps and local draft beers. There's also a tastefully placed big screen TV to catch sports events.

For something a little more sophisticated try out The Rose, a swanky cocktail lounge that’s a hit with the millennial set. You’ll find it within the Pink Garter Theatre and it’s a popular place so keep your fingers crossed that one of the red leather booths is free. Expect craft cocktails created with fresh ingredients and quality spirits that come at a price.

Wilson

When you find yourself in Wilson, there’s no better place than the Stagecoach Bar, the favored local drinking hole since 1942! Thursday is a hoot here, it’s Disco Night so gals drink for free and cab rides home at closing time cost just $2. The DJ’s music also shifts from disco to deep house around midnight. Sundays are fun too, when the five-piece Stagecoach Band play tunes from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.
