The Good

  • Champagne powder - one of the best spots for powder skiing
  • Western Canada's largest night skiing area (38 ac)!
  • Closest Ski Resort to Kelowna - just 1-hour drive away
  • Canada's largest ski-in/ski-out village
  • Family-friendly resort

The Bad

  • Often low visibility - nicknamed "Big Fog" and "Big White Out"
  • Terrain on east side can get icy
  • Slopes can get crowded

Find Freshies: All over the mountain, that's why its Kelowna's powder paradise! Stashes can be found between the Snow Ghosts (snow-covered trees) and if you like face-shots then Mustang Sally is just perfect!

Ditch the Crowds: Most of the crowds ski on the east side which is closer to the village. Avoid them by skiing over at the Gem Lake Area.

Local's Pick: The real gems are at the Gem Lake Area; be sure to check out Powder bowl here. The runs off Cliff Chair are also a treat!

It's never a disappointment when going to big white. Accommodations are great. Snow fall is even better and it's less than an hour from where I live. Which makes it even better. Keep it up!... More

Incredible terrain for all abilities. Short lift lines and efficient lifts where necessary. Lots of powder during our stay. It was a bit foggy but that didn’t prevent us from skiing the whole mountain.

It's my families favourite resort. Our kids love the instructors and the snow tubes. The village in the middle of the mountain is awesome, everything so close. The snow is better than any other mountain in BC.

Big White Ski Resort caters to ski/snowboarders of all levels. Lots of different trails to choose from. Really good marketing team with a lot of interesting promotional videos. Around 40mins drive from Kelowna so you can definitely get there fairly easily.

It's a family friendly hill with lots of intermediate terrain. The runs are designed in such a way that it's not too difficult to navigate from one part of the hill to the other. The snow is usually very dry and deep. The village is nice a feels very "homey". There are lots of... More

Nice little spot for this mountain. It get lots of dry snow thru out the year. The only trouble with this mountain is when it is cloudy up top, it is hard to find your way when it is your first time. Great little village to boot.
