I had many great experiences at this resort while I was living in California. Great food, great atmosphere! I love the fact that there was a little bar shack mid way down the mountain. Nice place to grab a drink before you get down to the bottom! Overall I had a great time when I went there.

Low key, beginner friendly resort. Probably better for skier than boarder. Nice Lodge. Easy to get there, but also kind of off the beaten path, which makes for smaller crowds.

While Bear Valley isn't the biggest or the best, it has charm. When all chairs are firing it's got everything any rider can't want. Super family friendly and close to Bay Area.

Bear Valley is a great place to get away from the big crowds in Tahoe. Close to the Bay Area and I have yet to hit major traffic when going there.

The Good:
Great family ski hill. Nice, helpful staff. Varied terrain, nice groomers.
The Bad:
Late parkershave to walk longer distances. Short runs. Slow lifts except for the backside.
The runs do not connect well.
