Overview

The Good

  • Highest lift in North America at 12,840 ft for some big mountain shredding
  • Bustling historic mining town with a laid-back vibe
  • Party town reputation - they got après ski down packed
  • Wide range of lodgings from modest to luxury to suit all budgets
  • Award-winning terrain parks (some of the best in the world!)

The Bad

  • Epic wind chill so wrap up warm
  • High elevation means top lifts can close for days
  • Slopes can get crowded, ugh!
  • Snow can be blow-packed into a crusty shell
  • High altitude can cause altitude sickness

The terrain at Breckinridge is fun and the snow is usually decent. However, the parking situation deters me from riding there. I don't like having to take a shuttle and gondola just to get to the base of the mountain.... More

I Love Breckinridge, but am only able to afford it through the ski pass and using a friends cabin. I can never bring friends to a resort because of the outrageous ticket prices. ... More

Breck is great for skiing and a family environment. There are options for more advanced terrain however I would say overall the steepness of the resort is more geared towards beginners. Can get pretty crowded but beautiful facilities and awesome mountain town feel. ... More
