Cooper Ski Resort is situated in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and boasts gorgeous views of Colorado's highest peaks, like Mt. Massive and Mt. Elbert. It was the training ground for the 10th Mountain Division ski troopers during World War II.

Ski Cooper Lift Tickets

Ski Cooper offers two types of lift tickets: Day lift ticket and Season Pass.

Day Lift Tickets

It is recommended to buy day lift tickets ahead of your trip to secure your spot due to the small size of the ski area.

Season Pass

With the Cooper Season Pass, you can enjoy unlimited ski and with no restrictions throughout the entire ski season. The Cooper Season Pass includes discounts at Cooper establishments and allows you to ski for 3 free days at each partner resort. 

Cooper Season Pass prices (subject to change):

  • Adult (Ages 22-74) With Partner Benefits: $379 - $579
  • Student (Ages 15-21) With Partner Benefits: $249 - $349 
  • Junior (Ages 6-14) With Partner Benefits: $149 - $249
  • Child (Ages 5 & Under) No Partner Benefits: $10
  • Senior (Age 75+) No Partner Benefits: $10
  • Senior (Age 75+) With Partner Benefits: $199 

Please note: Children ages 5 and under can ski free at Ski Cooper. Some partner resorts offer free Senior passes so it’s recommended that you check before purchasing as Season Passes are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Season Pass Benefits:

  • Buddy Tickets: A discounted buddy ticket can be purchased at the Ski Cooper Ticket Window with a present Season pass holder (Aged 15-74) and is limited to one per day.
  • Cooper Establishment: 10% off at the Trading Post with a minimum spend of $15, excluding sale items, and cannot be combined with other offers. It's also applicable for food and non-alcoholic beverages at all Cooper Food Outlets.

Ski and Snowboard Lessons

Ski Cooper Ski and Snowboard School offers 2-hour private and semi-private ski and snowboard lessons. Ski Cooper lessons cater to beginners to advanced skiers with terrain suitable for each level. 

Children from ages 3 and up can learn to ski but must be potty trained. Children under 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent to use the chairlift as they will need to use the lift as part of the lesson.

Nearest Town to Ski Cooper

Ski Cooper is a 10.3-mile drive via Highway 24 from the town of Leadville. Leadville is also only 24 miles away from Copper Mountain, which is one of the best ski resorts in Colorado, making it a convenient town for multiple ski destinations. The town is also known for its silver mining history, historical landmarks (including the Healy House Museum), Victorian buildings, and scenic views of the Rocky Mountains.

Are there ski packages to Ski Cooper?

There are no ski vacation packages to Ski Cooper as it is a small ski resort. That being said, there are ski vacation packages to most ski resorts in Colorado.

When is the best time to go skiing in Ski Cooper?

The best time to ski at Ski Cooper is generally from December through early March. This is typically when the region sees the most substantial snowfall. 

What amenities are available at Ski Cooper?

Ski Cooper has basic amenities including a ski school, day lodge, cafeteria and rental shop. 

How much does it cost to rent ski equipment at Ski Cooper?

A standard ski/snowboard package (including skis, boots, and poles) costs $45 per day for adults and $35 per day for children. Helmets can be added on for $15 per day.
