If you are interested in backcountry skiing, this is your route. The ski seasons are very long in Hakkoda- landing from November to May. It has a significant amount of powder.... More

Hakkoda isn't known for it's groomed runs, and they are pretty forgettable. Unfortunately the top of the mountain wasn't open as we don't have nearly enough snow yet, but considering there was nowhere else to go I was more than happy to ride the two runs that were open all day! Price was good, since it was early season, we paid ¥2700 per person... More
