The Good

  • Legendary steeps and world-class terrain, a true expert's paradise
  • The longest continuous vertical of any ski resort in the US
  • Easily accessible back-country terrain
  • Efficient lift system

The Bad

  • Not suitable for never-ever skiers
  • Crowded slopes
  • Colder than resorts in Colorado and Nevada

Find Freshies: For some of the world's best inbounds powder skiing, the Hobacks is where it's at. The powder here is deep, but be sure to get here early before the sun turns it into sludge!

Ditch the Crowds: Avoid the Amphitheater blue run, it's a designated slow zone and a real bottleneck that sees skiers of all levels.

Local's Pick: Hike along the Headwall to the Caspar Bowl gates and try one of the Shots, for a true backcountry experience (but still inbounds)! The powder-filled Hobacks are another spot not to be missed!

Jackson Hole was my favorite. The mountains were adventurous. I love the trees most as they are scarce and spreaded out, making the path very interesting. The snow was excellent too.... More

My first time at JH last year and I was blown away! Been to different mountains in CO and UT over the last 20 yrs and JH blew my mind. The best inbounds terrain I've ever seen and the side country will get you even more stoked. JH is a must for any skier or snowboarder. Going... More

The Terrain was absolutely amazing. Mostly Advanced terrain which I liked. Most of the cliff areas were marked very well. Some of the cliffs where marked but not prominently enough. I was unfortunate to go between two storms. I definitely want to go again... More

Jackson Hole is consistently rated the number one resort in North America for a reason. The combination of terrain and snow quality is unmatched. Whistler may come close, but the type of terrain that is easily accessible via lift at Jackson I don't think there's anything like it... More

The mecca of big mountain skiing and snowboarding. If you like steep and deep snow, make the trip to Jackson Hole and you won't regret it. I've flown to Jackson Hole, WY each of the last three years (direct flight from San Francisco). The flights are expensive, but well worth it... More

Absolutely amazing, the tram is a great experience. Great night life, with a small town atmosphere. Wyoming Glamour skiing. I highly recommend getting a back country guide. They're are many locations to get cliffed out with no easy return ascent.

Awesome resort, plenty of difficult runs, but I learned to snowboard there so there are many beginner/intermediate ones as well. Look for specials that include airfare discounts and they even have a hostel nearby for super cheap lodging!

Huge. Everything about this place is large scale. Friendly locals, great snow. My only regret is that I didn't get to spend more time there. Be sure to check out the town.

Jackson hole is a great expert skier’s mountain. The weather and snow conditions can be hit or miss, but the mountain has more potential than most in North America. It has lots of steep terrain lots of long tree runs, and may be the best lift served terrain in the lower 48.
