Alaska's biggest ski area sits at surprisingly low elevation topping out at under 4,000 ft located within an hour of Anchorage. 700 in annual snowfall blankets legendary expert steeps, with extreme terrain that's fun when the snow's good, scary when it's bad. There's not a ton of beginner runs, but more than enough variety that intermediates and above will be in heaven. It's a perfect warmup for your AK heli-skiing trip!
