Sunday River is among the best ski resorts in New England. It ranks high for snowmaking, grooming, modern lifts, and a long reliable season starting in October and often the first ski resort in New England to open. Halloween skiing through April, even May is where the River shines. We ski all over the globe and find the best snowmaking and grooming at The River on eight peaks of ski terrain. We also get the most skiing in here with the speedy well-located lifts connecting the eight peaks from White Cap to Locke Mountain, to Barker, to Spruce, North Peak, and Aurora, to Oz and Jordan Bowl. Sunday River is the second biggest ski resort in Maine after its sister ski resort Sugarloaf.

Though pricy Sunday river has a wide variety of terrain, enough to keep anyone happy for days. They always have the latest and greatest for lifts. Make sure you go after payday though.... More

Sunday River is large for an East Coast mountain. It has a few different peaks and gives you the opportunity to move around and avoid some crowds. They are also well known for their parks and it is well deserved. They do a great job with man made snow, but be prepared for some icy days. ... More

Sunday River is a great place for people to learn how to ski/board and progress. There is a good variety of terrain and plenty of space to disperse people. While it doesn't snow quite as often, powder days are great, especially at OZ and Jordan Bowl.... More

I recently moved to Maine about a year ago and have loved it last year I bought a season pass to Sunday River I had been there on a school trip once before and had a really good time figured it would be worth the money I went alone a couple times midweek when the crowds were to the minimum I noticed that weekends are heavily populated and sometimes... One of the most expansive resorts in the east, Sunday River does all it can to open the earliest and stay open the longest. Very committed to their grooming and slopside accommodations. It's unique in that there is a large variety of terrain for literally all ability levels. Drawbacks are that while it is hard to get to, it somehow has the ability... More

Sunday River is big mountain skiing in the east with lots of terrain for all abilities. Usually not crowded with great snowmaking and lots of choices for lodging including true ski in/ski out. ... More

Excellent snow and conditions. Tons of trails. Not nearly as customer oriented as Jay Peak.

Its awesome. Not really any out of bounds stuff easily accessible but when I lived on the East Coast I went at least once a year for a week.
