Overview

The Good

  • Legendary steeps and world-class terrain, a true expert's paradise
  • The longest continuous vertical of any ski resort in the US
  • Easily accessible back-country terrain
  • Efficient lift system

The Bad

  • Not suitable for never-ever skiers
  • Crowded slopes
  • Colder than resorts in Colorado and Nevada

Find Freshies: For some of the world's best inbounds powder skiing, the Hobacks is where it's at. The powder here is deep, but be sure to get here early before the sun turns it into sludge!

Ditch the Crowds: Avoid the Amphitheater blue run, it's a designated slow zone and a real bottleneck that sees skiers of all levels.

Local's Pick: Hike along the Headwall to the Caspar Bowl gates and try one of the Shots, for a true backcountry experience (but still inbounds)! The powder-filled Hobacks are another spot not to be missed!

Jackson Hole is more about skiing than places like Sun Valley and Park City. It's in a great location, the drive in is gorgeous, and the resort is perfect.

One of the most excited Ski Area in North America. Great challenging terrain, exited scenery, not overcrowded as some others well known resorts. Nice western town (Jackson).

Challenging yet rewarding. Good snow for the whole family can be found somewhere on the mountain.

It holds sentimental feelings for our family as my husband and I are from WY and I spent several ski vacations in Jackson. My husband and I went last may for a vacation on our own and had an amazing time!

The snow has been good the two times we have been there. It is great skiing, lots of runs. Probably, the easiest to get to.

There was a good variety for expert and intermediate skiers. It is a big mountain. We didn't cover it all in one day.

PROS - Beautiful scenery, awesome demanding terrain, dry snow powder, reasonable price on liftside hotels, fun nightlife, locals are great people. CONS - availability of high speed lifts is limited.
